Conscious Coconut
Transparency
Conscious Coconut oil is cold-pressed and made in small batches from certified Fair Trade farms in Davao City, Philippines, and is traceable through each production stage. Additionally, Conscious Coconut is certified through Fair Trade USA, ensuring fair compensation and safe working conditions for farmers and factory workers overseas. The team at Conscious Coconut works proactively to ensure the basic necessities of everyone involved in its supply chain are met, including access to clean water and education.
Emissions
Conscious Coconut is proactively working to reduce its carbon footprint and is currently working to create environmental efficiencies along its supply chain. All paper packaging is constructed from 100% recycled materials. Additionally, coconut oil tubes are made of laminate aluminum and jars made of glass - both are recyclable and prevent the use of plastic. All product lids and displays are made of bamboo. Conscious Coconut is also implementing refillable formats with the goal of minimizing waste and promoting responsible consumption amongst shoppers. Conscious Coconut provides clear packaging disposal instructions to shoppers with the goal of avoiding unnecessary waste.
Water Management
We are still exploring how we can work with Conscious Coconut to evaluate and manage their water footprint.
Materials
All materials and ingredients used by Conscious Coconut are responsibly sourced. Coconut Oil is crafted using the traditional cold-pressed method, without the use of heat, pressure, or machinery. As a result, the oil is never exposed to any harsh or toxic chemicals.
Workers’ Rights
Conscious Coconut is committed to ensuring just compensation and safe working conditions for their farmers and factory workers overseas. To that end, the brand operates in alignment with International Labour Organisation (ILO) standards for health and safety, and Fair Trade Community Development Premium which earns farmers an additional Premium for every metric ton of coconuts sold, on top of all sales. Additionally, All Conscious Coconut products are packaged and shipped at the MacDonald Training Center (MTC) in Tampa, Florida. MTC is a fulfillment center that employs and connects 120 disabled adults to businesses and future employers. MTC provides high quality job skills training to their employees that hold paid positions in retail, warehousing, and distribution around the Tampa Bay area.
Waste and Chemicals
Conscious Coconut’s products are produced without the use of harmful chemicals and techniques. The oil is crafted using the traditional cold-pressed method, without the use of heat, pressure, or machinery.
Animal Welfare
Conscious Coconut does not perform animal testing for its finished products, nor are any of its raw ingredients tested on animals. All of Conscious Coconut products are vegan.

We are still exploring how we can work with Conscious Coconut to advance our shared goal of protecting endangered species and forests.

Symbols to spot
Cruelty Free
Neither the finished product nor its ingredients are tested on animals, and adhere to standards for basic animal welfare set by the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). All Toward Beauty products are cruelty free.
Low Waste
Little or no textile waste created in the production process and post-purchase waste reduction advice given.
